Male or female?

So I've had this red magma fh since it was a baby! Bought it for $10. Now I am seeing a lot of changes but I know he/she is way to young still to get a jump of its a guy lol my question is by this picture, can you sex it in a way? Think it's a male or female? Praying for a male seeing how my red dragon just passed on me :/

i'll say a male. i can see a small buldge coming out and also the absence of the dorsal spot. from what ive experienced, a flowerhorn at this size, if it is a female, should have the dorsal spot. but dont be too excited, prbabbly a late bloomer. give updates

Can't see enough of the dorsal to see if theres a spot or not but itlooks female to me. You'll have to check the vent for a positive ID. Regardless its a nice looking fish
