Driftwood might be messing with my tank. Help? Thoughts?

If your fish have ich, it did not come from the wood.

The Red Wolf that you appear to have just gotten (10 days ago) is likely the culprit. Ich is commonly introduced from new arrivals.

The parasitic cyst can be on one fish, multiply, drop to the substrate, then be released and re-infect the same or other fish. You will not always notice the infection as the cyst is very small and under the skin until it expands. And of course, it's easier to see on some fish as opposed to others.

Try to confirm it's ich. Are any of the fish flashing?

No none are flashing.
The other fish seem to be okay.
Gar died this morning.

Sorry. Gars are great fish.

No flashing, other fish in the tank show no symptoms, gar was not the new fish...makes me think that it wasn't ich. Not saying you are wrong, but ich is fairly indiscriminate in it's targets. If a new fish brought it, it seems hard for another fish to have so much that it dies while the others show no symptoms. I guess you have to watch the others carefully and if you feel confident, treat it as if it's ich for a few days.

Can you take a pic (or did you take one) and post it? Visuals are really valuable for identification.

crank the heat up to 87 plus for ick, this speeds up its life cycle past what it can sustain. can treat with salt also at same time, but if not a scaled fish do not use salt. keep the heat up 2 weeks past the last time you last saw one on your fish. or you can get ick treatment from your local LFS.

clean water and good vacuuming regiment is also needed.

bah just saw gar died, sorry man : (
