U.K
I have a large 6x3x2 sump that has an area up one end that is not used, just a pump sat in there. I have LOADS of filtration and don't really need any more.
I have used this area in the past to grow various fish on but don't want to do that any more.
What can i keep in here, preferably with no light on, that will just eat up scraps of food and general crap that accumilates in a sump?
This area of the sump has a return from a stingray pup tank so has a fair amount of un-eaten food hitting it a couple of times a day.
I just want something low maintanence that i can basically throw in there and forget about.

Crayfish are the first thing that comes to mind. I think that plecos would be too messy. A colony of low grade red cherry shrimp could work also.

I have a lesser siren and a bunch of snails in my sump that I rarely see. They eat any pellets that my overflow sucks up.

crawfish, inverts of some kind. you could use it as a place to breed some sort of live-bearer as food.

I was thinking cave tetra also. They seem to be pretty good scavengers and won't require much food. I think cherry shrimp would work too.

The lesser siren looks very interesting but doubt i would be able to find one that easiliy. They look very similar to rope fish which i have always loved. Would a rope fish work do you think?

I've never kept a rope fish but I don't see why not. As long as it will eat food scraps.
