Wish it was nicer. But it's cool, he passes through pretty often, but there is signage saying you can't ask to take a picture with him.
What the Hell is that all about?....not that I would ask to if I was there and he just happened to stop in.
I'm sure people would ask. I'll try and post a flyer. I think he hand picks all the old movies shown.
I'm also sure some would and have but I would not.I'm not that big of a fan of his and it seems rather pompous of him to place such signs around the place.
Dude is a celebrity, so I can see that getting annoying. Its not just fans that wants selfies with him, but people who just want to be pictured with a celeb, so they have something to brag about.
He's a celebrity because of the fans and if it wasn't for them he'd probably still be some,nerdy,funny looking video store clerk.If he can't be bothered by his fans(who should not continue to visit his theater anyhow because of the insult)he can always enter through the back.
Imagine Woody Allen or Spike Lee pulling something similar in New York.
I understand what you're saying, but there comes a time when you just want to walk down the street or get a bite to eat and not be bothered. I'm sure there are plenty of time when Spike and "Creepy" Woody tell people, "sorry, can't right now". I lived on Kauai, Hawaii for 5 years and have been talking distance from plenty of celebs, but I never bothered them....just a nod and a smile and continue on way. Never understood this fandom concept....they're just people
Full disclosure,Spike Lee might not have been the best example to use lol and I agree with your points on fandom and maybe I find the signs insulting because I would not be one of those people yet my moviegoing enjoyment would have been lessened for seeing them.
