Hello; You apparently miss the point of domestication to some degree. I do expect house pets to be safe around myself and others, especially children. When a dog becomes a proven biter it needs to be put down. It is my understanding that that is how wild dogs were domesticated. the agressive ones were put down and the more tame kept and bred.
Hello; You again make a statement that supports my point of view. Dogs that need some level of special handling and training are not suitable as pets for the general public.

Hello; This ploy is most despicable. It is also one of the tactics used to deflect blame from the dogs. Somehow blame the victim. From what I understand the mother and child were walking down a street and outside a fence. Shame on you.
Hello; This may be the way things work in your fantasy world. In my neighborhood I expect to be able to walk or bicycle on public streets. I expect people to keep their mean dogs in hand and secured at all times.

your links actually proved Tomo's claims wrong. he said the "pit" in pitbulls came from helping bull fighters in a pit. so thanks for proving him wrong. so i'm not the only one that's ignorant
they also say that bull dogs were the original dogs used for the bull fighting thing. not pit bulls.
also, it's interesting that the romans started breeding them to fight way before they were used to help bullfighters
and after the banning of using them with bulls, they were used to kill rats. then people got tired of that and specifically started to be bred to fight other dogs.
it's in that trait that makes them dangerous. so I will agree that it's not their fault. it's human's fault. but the fact is that the trait was bred in them and remains

No they don't. I'm not serious.
We need less dumba*s's in the world who want to be thugs. Responsibility for the owners is what we need. I've never Volunteered at a shelter that didn't have at least one pit bull type of dog. I've seen more dogs that were surrendered by owners who couldn't take care of them and wanted to ensure the dogs were matched to responsible homes than the Craigslist wannabe thug hoodlum.
