This whole thing reminds me of my armatus that spooked and jumped out of the tank.It scraped itself up pretty good as it flapped around on the floor,I thought it would recover but it died two days later.
Yea, when I had found him I thought he was a goner, but reading some stories of others finding their fish similar to mine I figured I'd throw him in a bucket to not dirty the tank and have a chance to possibly revive him, he was hard and stiff, but I saw a response in his fins when he hit that water.
i really appreciate the help from everyone, hopefully i can avoid this with my future plan

Just seen the update late sorry for your loss moe its hard loosing prize fish , ive been there plenty of times myself. You'll find yourself another mala at some point just keep searching for the ideal sized one
