I plan on drilling the tank and the overflow box and holding the inside overflow box on with bulkheads. I figure 4x 1" bulkheads with gaskets inside the overflow box and gaskets between the overflow box and tank so I can remove the overflow box to clean behind it. This tank is running as you can see so I'm doing it this way so there as little down time as possible

You aren't going to drill the tank while it's running are you?
That would be an epic YouTube video!

Ya man I'm going to lower the tank about half way and make a fixture to drill the holes and do it while fish are in the tank. I have drilled a tank with my marble pups in it, biggest thing is a steady hand and balls of steel lol I'm not worried because I'm not going to screw it up

Speaking of chipped tanks....this isn't really DIY....but it is a cool thing I think.
I found this clear corner guard at HomeD for like $1 or something...4' piece. Cut to fit and siliconed to the edge of a garage tank or a small beater....goodbye chipped corners. One of my tanks had a chip and this stuff covered it completly. Just a small bead of silicone in the "v" and push it on and bam.

That is cool I have never thought of doing that with chipped tanks. I have used that stuff to make trim for a tank. Learned the hard way don't trust the adhesive that is on those corner pieces. I just painted it flat black.
I built the tank for davenmandy her on mfk I don't have the pictures anymore or I would show ya

Mind you I should had I have plenty of experience drilling holes as a machinist/milwright from O1, D2, cpm10v (powder metal) hardened material, aluminum, steel, prehardened 4140 and the list goes on, so it's just another hole to drill to me
