Give me the low down! DIY masters chime in!!

This is a 30g tank I'm building for my girlfriend for her tetras and rabid snails. Simple planted tank with internal filter and going to have an in line ehime 150w heater same design as in the first post. Planted heavy on both sides where filters are. I got a little drunk one night and started thrown sand in lol
She doesn't want a sump or I would do a durso style overflow into a sump. I know it's overkill to have a sump on a 30 breader and I would have to go out the back rather then the bottom as the bottom is tempered but I like figuring out how to do this stuff on cheap used tanks rather then brand new expensive ones

It is just normal sand but it's alot lighter in color then most. I found sand I want I just have to figure out a way to get a couple of bags as its for a big company we do contract work for. It is pure white and has a shine to it.it is 100% silica sand as its for sand blasting rubber right after forming. Looked up all the specs and it is safe for fish I will still to my vinegar test and if there is one bubble from the vinegar I won't use it

Ya heck I agree I want to see some more of other people's hits misses attempts I want to see it all.

I have a broken baffle in my sump and rigged it to not leak because I'm to lazy to pull it out. I have no room to judge anyone lol

I will definitely get a video I am guessing it will take an hour to drill 4x 1" holes threw 3/4 glass

Mind you I should had I have plenty of experience drilling holes as a machinist/milwright from O1, D2, cpm10v (powder metal) hardened material, aluminum, steel, prehardened 4140 and the list goes on, so it's just another hole to drill to me

Ah....it's coming together now. You're a Machinist that runs a mill. Is that where Miller...kid comes from? Speed and feed right? Too fast and it burns and tempers.
