Paddlefish care?

Do paddlefish need cold water? In the summer my may get warm. Are they like sturgeon were they can live in warm water if there's a lot of oxygen? Also my water always green, I don't really mind since I can see the silhouettes of my koi but will that be bad for paddlefish or will they benefit from green water?

No they don't need cold water but they do require well aerated water, green water seems to benefit healing in most fish but I have noticed it does this very well on a paddlefish for some reason, I've seen wounds on their paddle heal in greenwater but they cannot eat it, they eat zooplankton not phytoplankton.

Ah alright. Also when I do water changes in my pond, I remove water and fill it back up with hose water. I add in prime every few minutes. Should I remove the paddle fish from the pond while it's being fill up or will it be okay?

The paddlefish are no more sensitive to water changes than most fish, removing them from the pond would probably involve quite a bit of stress and the larger they get the less tolerant of containers they become... bottom line, if you keep your other fish in the pond during a water change then keep your paddlefish in too, how big a water change are we talking about in percentage of the pond?

Aren't Bass Pro Shops getting their display fish from Osage? I spoke to them at length but am yet to order.

They supply paddlefish to fish farms even in FL, which gets pretty warm.
