Picked this guy up last year about April off of CL as a common. He is 12" now and I know he is not a Mala anymore. Has 5 pores 42 LL scale count and some unique colors. Has almost a metallic line that runs with his LL. Just would like to get a positive ID on him.
It got attention and members looked at it. Wolves are hard to ID and lot of opinions get put out. Except for braveheart there isn't a lot of people "qualified" to do this including myself. No disrespect to other members. Plus I just make up everything as I go lol.
As kno4te said, we are all learning as we go, this is a group of fish that needs work, a big part of the reason there isn't a sticky for them, they're a hard group, for these rarer species, we are almost guessing as of now, using what we can gather and narrowing it down and making a decision that may or may not be accurate. Only the distinct species can we give a positive ID on.
I would say that if it's a brasi then it has to be small. The smallest of the hoplias species. If it's bigger than 10 inches then can't be brasi.
Keep ur wolf for a while and if grows too big then it's maybe something else. Since there's overlap with LL/pores it can be tough. That's one way to tell.
Where did u get the brasi from, if u don't mind me asking DB?
