I am going to get pink filter media off eBay for 10$ and I think I might need New hose piping. But I looked at it before i bought it and it looks very good in shape

What media do you recommend?
 
I have 3 of the 2260/2262 models set up currently. All three have 5L of Eheim Ehfi Mech (tubular shape) mechanical media in the bottom of the filter on top of the bottom (long leg down) green lattice screen.
I then use 2" thick Poret filter foam, cut to fit, in 10 PPI and 20 PPI. I may even have more than 2 layers in some of the filters.
Next is a single or double layer of Polyfil brand traditional batting to act as a fine media.
Finally is a zippered mesh lingerie bag with either Eheim Substrat Pro or Seachem Pond Matrix for the bio-media. Last is the top (short leg up) green lattice screen.

You can really use any media that you want as long as you follow the recommendation to put the mechanical media in the lower half of the filter and the bio-media in the upper half of the filter.

Fahad, did you also get the instruction manual with the filter?
 
great deal for eheim. maintained right they are bullet proof.
 
maintained in this case O-rings lubed every time its opened, and empeler chamber cleaned once a year.

No I didn't get any instructions with it. But he should me how to put it togther.
 
it aint rocket scientist stuff, just make sure to lube your O-rings before filling her up and firing her off.

Please be aware the manual is in a couple different languages so you will need to search the manual for the one you need. I suggest you print out your version for a quick reference, especially the part names and numbers in case you have additional questions or need to order something.

I also suggest you check that all the parts are there, this includes any o-rings on any fitting connected to the filter body and o-rings on the elbow fitting between the pump and filter lid.

I've bought a couple of these filters used and found o-rings missing, damaged or incorrectly positioned which could have led to severe leaks on the floor if I hadn't found them.

Also, you can rotate the pump orientation on the pump plate if you have clearance issues on where you want to install it.
