Significant other "not in the hobby"

Who else has a significant other that "isn't in the hobby" ? My fiance says that the hobby is mine when it comes down to maintainance but now I'm getting ready to set her up a 150 wide tank for a marbled African lungfish. If that's all it takes for her to let me do my thing and not get mad about what I spend on my obsession I'll take it!

My husband has a strict one tank only law for now- he says Its too much work and I spend too much time on one tank as it is I keep trying to tell him its not work it's play

Having sold my motorcycle and not golfing anymore, my wife is happy to have me home more and I have my way with my fish keeping hobby. Now she can't understand why I go through so many fishes. Whenever she gets antsy about me picking up more fishes, I'd suggest to her, let's go look at motorcycles...end of story. All about give and take.

My wife and I share the hobby equally. We only fight at fish auctions it helps provide entertainment for the auctioneers. She has even threatend to tie my hands to the chair. But at the end of the day we both enjoy this hobby way to much.

For me, I'm single; but any friends/women that come over, usually first of all mock me for being so passionate and intense about the hobby, then move onto appreciating the tanks; before then asking if they can help out with it in the future lol. They don't want tanks for themselves though, even if i offer a free spare 5 or 10g that i have kicking about sometimes

My G/F doesnt get too hands on with the hobby, but has over the years learnt to apprecite the tanks, and grown attached to one or two old fish that passed away, namely my old Fahaka Puffer "Tiny"...

She now shows interest in my Crysta Red Shrimp as well since i've been getting her involved with helping me thin the crowd of the ones that dont make the cut for the tank anymore since im trying to build a top quaity colony...
