Hi, I'm new here and I was hoping for some advice finding a bigger.tank.

I need about a 180 gallon (at the very least 100 gallon) display tank.

What are my most economical options? Are there particular stores or sales to look for?

Thanks for any input.

I can't speak on what might be near you but my experience has been that sometimes you can get amazing deals through local forums, aquarium clubs or Craigslist and such.

Thanks! So far I have been checking craigslist everyday and placing adds in my local Facebook trader pages, I'm just not having much luck with anything over 55 or 75 there though. At least so far anyway :)

I've always heard Marineland & Aqueon have a big spring sale every year around March/April. Have you tried contacting the different LFS' in your area and get some pricing?

craig list best option for cheap, i payed 200 for my 180, came with stand, duel bottom drilled with all plumping and pumps, tempered glass all around custom built, all seals in good order. no reseal needed.
or my 95g, 20 bucks, needed a reseal, cleaned up, resealed and good to go, or the 145g, stand, led lighting, again did not need reseal, 250 bucks, or the 75g, 150 bucks, led lighting, ac110, eheim pro 2. the list goes on, just watch craigs list and be ready to jump with cash on hand. and make sure to walk away if the tank sux.

yup, just have to have cash on hand and be diligent on searches, and pounce when the deal comes up. even if its out of the price range, give a call, folks like cash, and if not, watch it, time has a way of bringing down the price on something not selling for that 1k price tag.
