MY DOG WAS ATTACKED BY 2 PITBULLS TODAY

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As much care for as pit bull as with a lion, perhaps not. It does seem however that more extraordinary care needs to be taken with the pit bull types.
......okay,now I'm done.

I get that some do not like the points I make on this subject, but perhaps others have gained some insight.
To whom it may concern; Really? You don't think "Dogs Bite. Com" is skewing their data a little bit to fit their agenda?

People who run those websites don't do it for the good of the public. They do it because they want something.

And as much as you hate them they'll never be banned by the federal government. The government simply doesn't care about this or has the time to devote to such an issue.

or they're getting paid-off

I also think many breeds should not be off leash due to the potential threat and liability issue. I would never personally have any dog with the means to injure severely off leash. Be that a GSD, Lab, Rott, large hound....whatever. In this sue happy world, it isn't worth the risk especially if you own a APBT or other breed the media views as dangerous...if another dog starts it you will be held responsible without question.

Im fairly new here I don't know past threads of discussion on the issue. It is my first thread on the matter; I also don't expect to change anyone's view. Just to share my own opinion and hear others. It is everyone's right to be biased against any breed....Id never own a yorkie for example I feel they are aggressive, prissy little ankle bitters which always have gross wet face hair which stinks despite the owner's best efforts to groom. That is an opinion, Id love to hear others views on why a yorkie would be a good choice; doesnt mean Ill ever agree with it but I can respect it.

Personally I think all dogs should be on a leash when in public. My 6 year old daughter is scared of dogs and I hate it when they run up to her. Even though dogs don't scare me I don't like it when they approach me either.

Yes, all dogs on leashes at all times unless in a fenced in yard. None of that electric fence garbage either....I've seen dozens of big dogs barrelass right through them, then refuse to go back in cuz of the shock. Electric fences should be banned

My uncle has had a few dogs that wouldn't even go near them. Granted the dogs would get almost knocked off their feet if the tried to run through because he had three different "fences" put up to give to warning shocks as well as the full dose shock.

I actually run a wireless invisible fence and its worked well. It probably took about 10 mins to train my dog. You set up white flags at boundary and walk you dog around boundary, if the dog enters a certain distance you hear a beep and if you proceed a shock is administered. You can adjust the shock from 1-10, I use 2 and it feels like a static shock. They probably aren't for all dogs but for smarter dogs that aren't too sketchy, I've seen good results. Once they are trained, you can stop using them.
