Variety of different food for arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok I've done the first water change today but i unfortunately have awful news
While I was doing the water change I got a call from my parents and they said 2 things
They shut down my pond plans( gone no more)
Instead they came up with an awful half ass solution they want to move my dads aggressive Midas and my FH to the arowanas tank and move my arowana to his 125 filled with 4 blood parrots and my angels. This is an awful idea in my opinion and also it is sooo temporary they think since my dads old arowana lived in a 125 mine can. I don't like this idea at all. It will mess with my arowana, it won't solve the problem of it growing and it's still overcrowded with soo much fish there's no room. Also a Midas 8 inches and my FH in a 60 gal will kill each other and I don't want that to happen also if I leave my FH ( the fish that screwed up my arowana in the first place) who knows what it will do to my arowana and my angels
I think I've decided I'm just too ill prepared for this arowana it was a bad impulse buy and I think I may have to give it away I'll update more later on but this looks like to only permanent good solution now.

I feel for you dude. Maybe try explain to your parents that the other fish will not play nice with each other. If possible try and convince them to get one of those above ground pools (intex I think) with a net over could work for you. I also would love an aro but I can not afford a tank for q full grown aro and food for it?

The plan was an above ground with a net like I had schematics and everything but now they want to get a dog so bye bye pond

How does a dog affect a pond?

The money went from my pond to a dog and they want to dedicate the backyard to a dog area now instead of a nice pond
That is sad. I will have to give my comets aeay sooner or later. They are in a 20 tub gal now but going to a 120 soon as they are growing out of it. The tub is 1x1.2 M so i dunno if they can stay there then ill have to spend a fortune on fancys because it is going to be in MY aquaponics i have to sponsor.

Us kids can never win

Yep rough life

Hey I've heard people mention how they put pellets in crickets and feed it and the arowana eats it. I tried it and it works but I don't really know how to put the pellet in the cricket like the pellets are pretty big so I broke them in half and it still kinda hard to fit in the cricket. The crickets are large so they about as big as a pellet I'm also gonna try fish meat so can u guys recommend what fish meat and where to get it like the store or what?

Tilapia is often used. I am gonna use frozen angelfish as a part of my exodon diet. It is only 1.7 USD a kilo.
Try wrapping fish around a pellet.
Also is there space to maybe space to build an indoor tank?

My new strategy is to just get a 250 gal tank to be a final tank and then sell the 60 gal and put the 250 in its place also I'll try tilapia
