Word of Caution on buying fish

i got a bunch of plecos about 10 in all only 2 made it and they were on sale from a large pet store the best thing to do is get them pumped full of blood worms and sinking treats the 2 went from no bigger then 2 inches in six weeks they got to be 8 inches they never feed fish well at major chains

I really like long fin BN plecos but very few options on buying them locally. I thought getting 4 would mean I would have 1 maybe 2 grow out but that failed. I do feed in bottom fish pretty heavy I know they just get the bits other fish miss so I make sure to drop extra sinking pellets in for them and spread them around so they can get to them.

Not sure I would go with 10 at one time but might be a way to do it so I get some that live.

Not only do they feed less, but don't feed the right foods for each species.

The local owned store is 48 hours but he will work with you if your a regular. But the chain stores are 14 days. From them you need the extra days I have used it often.

When I got home one of my green terrors had passed but my wife reminded me it was the 14th day on those fish so took him back. So put the new one in a different tank I was going to use for firemouths but I can change things up a little. Very glad I bought extra filters last month that had seeding in tanks and that I have some free tanks. My angels are looking good going to keep treating them for a few more days but no symptoms or signs.

Lol, in my area you get 7 days, thats it. I've had disease pop up in my quarantine tank up to 2 monthes after a purchase before
I forgot to mention that some of the shops even want to test a sample of your tank water.
