Old to new...a journey to begin

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah but need to find some good ones. Tiger barbs were a no go. It brought them out but that was over very fast.

Need to get silver dollars or rainbowfishes?
If you can get them, giant danios would work nicely. They'll occupy the upper water level, and they are robust and fast.

Have not seen them available at LFS here. How would denisoniis be?

Silver dollars, Denisoniis, Giant Danios, Geophagus...any more? I'm going through the "datnoid tankmates" threads here hoping for more ideas.

I believe Denisoniis would do fine if you can get them in large sizes, but silver dollars would work as well if those are readily available to you.

Cool. First seen first bought :)

Had a word with the LFS guy. He says he's expecting a good shipment this week. Hope i get me some nice dithers.

Nice clean set up....I like the white doors on the stand.....it's nice to see some desi brothers on the site!

Looks great. Also like the white doors on the black stand. How did you attach them to the metal stand ?

Thanks :)

Doors are just plywood doors and we stuck white acrylic sheet on it. Was thinking to go all black but ended up with this. Next step is to cover the plywood sheet and thermocol sheet below tank with black acrylic.

How do you guys keep tank free of debris without internal filters?

I have two canister filters. Inlets are at the back extreme left and right. The outlets are at the back as well facing the tank front.

Debris seems to accumulate at the back of the tank at the center. What would be the best solution to avoid that?

You would need to move the outlet around and adjust the angle to find the desired current that will move debris from this area.

Personally, I wouldn't mind it if all the debris collects in one area. Then all you have to do is just vacuum this area.
