Jag tank size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
.....but not nearly as readily available :(.....

.....or I'D have them too.
Yeah. The issue is that i dont have easy access to them. In my area the rarest thing ive seen is the Festae i had before. They arent too common but i know they used to be much harder to come by.

I kept a mated pair of jags in a 75 for about 2 years but I knew they would out grow the tank. When I got them, the male was around 9", female was about 7". They got along well until the male hit about 14". The tank was just too cramped then. That said, you could most likely keep a female jag in a 75 for life. Males just seem to dwarf anything smaller than a 125 and enjoy the space to swim.

I agree with what everyone has already said, just keep in mind, they sometimes get quite large. I had an 18" to 19" male before, was a beast.

Sometimes you have to play the cards you've been dealt. Every jag I've seen in person have been freaken huge and would look ridiculous in a 75. So... I would expect that most male jags to turn into monsters.

Get a Motaguense. They are the best;) you could even have a pair in a 75 if you would REALLY enjoy it. (Depending on the males personality) here's mine

Pretty fish!

I would have to order them online though. Im ok with the idea but the extra cost isnt somethng i can put in my budget at the moment... Jags are in abundance so they are cheap but idk if i can find a Mota for the right price.

Idk. I still like the Jags.

Damned if you do, damned if you don,nt thread, in my world jag needs to be in a 125g or better. Just my humble opinion.
