My polys

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Jaws. This new addition will probably look like my first Bichir. Sold it at 17" around 4 years ago after it ate my female heckelii cichlid. Lots of regrets on this one. It's now displayed at a restaurant probably 19"-20". I put a pic of my former endli next to yours. Notice the Similar markings?

They look similar but I'm sure different catch locations. The original owner I got this from around the time when wet spot listed this endli as 'volta' which is just means river.

So far the ornate seems to still be the boss but him and the endli stay in opposite sides of the tank the ornate ventures over to the other side but the endli stays out of ornate country

Well i pretty much had this ass backwards. Endli just nipped at the ornate and to my surprise he took off.

Noticed something funny the pearsei was pushing the endli around not biting him but pushing it with it mouth open. Shortly after he nipped at the ornate. He normally does this when food is present.

I see the resemblace in the banding but the head looks a bit different shaped to me. The dabola endli seems to have a lower slung head assembly where its lower jaw just always seems to be down without the upward tilt. Not sure if that makes sense, but thats the trait I like in mine too.

+1 on difference head shapes and the color of the overall fish are different shades which can be because of different environments.
