Hello :)

This is my first post! I have a 180 gallon fancy goldfish tank (currently overstocked due to closing down my ponds and rehoming the majority of my fish). Finally got it down to 14 fish, hoping to upgrade to a 260 or 320 gallon tank (not including sump) within the next year. I've got a pretty strict water change schedule on this tank, it gets huge water changes every 3 days, and the fish and plants thrive on it :) I'm running 2 fx5s, they do a good job, though I think a third would have been ideal if I had the space

Very great healthy selection, awesome job with their care.

Nice set up. We don't see enough larger goldfish tanks posted on this site. Thanks for posting, I'm a goldfish/koi keeper myself(amongst other species). I don't think you are too over stocked, at least you're stocking fancies and they seem to do better in an aquarium setting.

yeah I've definitely learnt from having this tank running over a year and a half, that less is more. Keeping it clean is a big job, when I upgrade I'm contemplating going bare bottom just to keep it cleaner

Thanks! I think fancies are often underrated, I've kept small community tropicals, large cichlids and marines, but I've always had a soft spot for these guys.

Very nice set up with Zen simplicity and tranquility. Goldfish is more appreciated in the East than West, and almost never posted in MFK. Most Goldfish tanks I've seen are bare bottom tank with no decorations, no plants, just a background to show the color and silhouette of the fish. What plants do you grow that the goldfish won't lunch one them? I see that you have a black box to secure the plants, what is it made with? What filtration do you use to remove the high waste load from goldfish and at the same time not creating too much current to drive out CO2?

You have some very beautiful goldfish! I also have a soft spot for goldies.. Be sure to post pics if/when you get a bigger tank for them, we need more monster goldfish setups on here.

And do you have plants in there other than anubius? :D
