That is true. no one is bound to take any advise given, and if they choose not to take it? then so be it, you have said what you think to be the right thing to you. no fault in that, I poster not taking that advise is not an insult. its just ITHO.

Look man imo there are some members here that are just spot on, always correct and back up what they say, and have gone out of their way to improve the hobby. For me there are some members i would listen to blindly... when they speak i listen. Maybe op isnt aware of who those members are, maybe hes not active enough.

Sure,made loads of mistakes.But I still listened to experienced people when asking for guidance.
If the op don't want to listen cool,I just feel sorry for the fish.

Maybe he's just skeptical about believing certain things that ur minds just don't think sound right when we 1st hear them and we have to roll it around a bit before it starts to sound logical.....


......For instance, take me for example just being told Gymnogeophagus can live for 2-3 months in water that is 40F-50F.........Dude, my mind is BLOWN over that atm.....I'm still not sure i'm comfortable trying it, but the more I think about it, it makes more sense considering Uruguay and Argentina are NOT that different from sub-tropical and possibly even temperate U.S.

Cichlids live in FL canals and bodies of water.....I lived in FL and I can tell you, even the KEYS get cold 40-50F days .....Alligators can tolerate temps in the 40's as well.

See what I mean? I'm still in disbelief, but logic and science utilized - I'm sort of convincing MYSELF. Give him some time

If you are only looking at keeping the jag for less than 2 years, buy it at a size juvenile size of less than 2" total length, then a 75g would be doable up to 13" of total length of the fish, this is the minimum tank size according to Jay Hemdel
