Stepped on a stringray a few moments ago

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Duane, you do remember Steve Irwin, right?

Oh come on! I've had splinters bigger than that

:D
it's hurts WAY worse than it looks. Still probably under 10lb Ray did that.....it's the bigger thicker barbs that have the fish-hook type of anchors that make it bad. The one that stung me got STUCK in me.

I was just busting his chops. I'm sure it hurts

Did you get a look at the stingray and was it FW or SW?

Salt water, and I never really saw it, felt the hit, and was glad to see a straight slice, so it wasn't a sea snake.
The Humboldt current has been passing thru and the cool water is driving the snakes close to shore.
Can barely feel it anymore.

I don't know of any Carribean sea snakes, and as far as I know, the Yellow-bellied (Pelamis platurus) is the only one that reaches the west coast, or the entire super-continent for that matter,......are you guys really getting them in Panama?

Beware if that's the case, it is definitely the worst sea snake, and drop-for-drop ranks in for one of the highest venom potencies on the planet ..... 0.003 of a drop can kill a person
