Is there a such thing as too many water changes?

Any fish that stays in approximately the same spot in a river is basically living in a constant water change. As long as temp and parameters aren't fluctuating hugely and your fish aren't terrified because of the disturbance, there's no such thing as too many water changes. My silver dollars would probably die of panic if I upped the number of water changes much further, but a smarter and less easily terrified species of fish would probably realize that it wasn't in danger.

That's a good way to look at it.

I live in a condo and the water bill is split evenly Shhhh
I'd assume you live on the bottom floor (if there are floors). You can't keep a monster aquarium on the top floor. Either way it ends up on the bottom of the building.

I only do water changes to keep my nitrate in check and vacuum the tank,. for me thats 90% or fin level a week with a extra water change every 3 weeks or so. I am of the school of thought that large water changes are better than frequent small ones through out the week,
