That is fine. I said fluidize because k1 was designed for/mainly used in fluidized or moving bed filters.

If you wanted to make use of K1 I'm assuming you had no other option in the sump than the socks. I totally get making use for it though.

It's hard to tell where the waterline is in the socks. usually pipe going in the water by an inch or lessens the noise rather than making a splash.

I got my k3 kaldness from onlineponds.com on ebay. I am going to swap out the bio balls for k3 kaldnes in my 55g drum pond filter.
