The story of how I got to where I am today. Part 2

What would you say about the fish? Do you think I paid a fair enough price for them? (I mostly mean the Angels, those were expensive compared to the other averaged priced fish in the tank)
Basically those Angels were expensive because I haven't gone out buying a full grown Flowerhorn, a breeding pair of 10" Discus, or a nearly full grown Motoro Ray breeding pair (which are illegal is GA. I would be the one to know this because I'd have a 48 x 48 x 12 tank for my rays if they were legal)

Those angels at that size are about $15 each here. Prices vary in different areas though... I woulda bought them small. In a 210 they will be that big in a few months.
How much was your Flowerhorn. The one in the profile pic.

I never buy full grown monster fish. I like growing them out. For one its costly and you don't know how old they are. Buying a full grown flowerhorn is crazy. They are not long lived fish. 5-6 years is what I seem to get outta them. When you buy a full grown flowerhorn it could be 4-5 years old already!
It also helps to know and befriend the lfs owner that you frequent most. Big discounts and free stuff!

I got him recently for $80 at about 3.5 inches. He's getting close to 5 inches now. The owner takes trips to Thailand a few times a year and brings back flowerhorns and other fish. Helluva discount and I get to choose before the public gets to buy. He replaced my old one that died a couple weeks earlier (That one was free from a friend).

Apparently they do discounts when buying multiple fish. I asked about a red terror which was like 0.5-1" and $25. I asked why it was so expensive. The guy I was talking to said he didn't know but he would check for a discount. He told me that he could only apply one if I bought more than one.

Sorry for the loss. Especially being a gift. Seems like knowing him has benefits.
