I'd like to hear their explanation as to how panfish could be of any threat to bass when they have coexisted with them for eons.I could be wrong but last I checked, panfish were not some invasive non natives that were recently introduced to the bass previously unspoiled habitat.
Typically, its some ignoramus who observes panfish raiding a bass nest and concludes he needs to step in to "save" his favorite gamefish from the possibility of extinction.

Reminds me of a time when California commercial fishermen were shooting sea otters because they felt the otters were going to eat too many fish in the ocean and threaten the fishermens' livelyhood

I can't believe Japan is the only country in the WORLD who still kills whales and dolphins for the same reasons

That may be an excuse they give, but the fact is, the Japanese simply have a taste for whale and dolphin meat.

This is what I always thought...and tuna.I heard that they have tons of tuna stored in deep freeze.

Yes, I have
pretty screwed up, huh? I don't know what's wrong with people and where they get all those psychotic, sociopathic tendencies from. Some of the Dolphins being slaughtered were mere months-old....it's apparently just their way of saying "**** you, America, you can't tell us what to do"

Yes and no. While I find the slaughter hard to watch, I feel it is no different than that of the slaughter of chicken or cows, that we do here everyday. I just don't find whale/dolphin any more endearing than chickens or cows. As long as an animal(not human being) is slaughtered for food, I don't really have an issue with it........otherwise I would be a hypocrite, since I am a major carnivore. There are PETA folks who feels just as passionate about the slaughter of USA farm animals, as "The Cove" makers feels about whales/dolphins. With the exception of humans, I, personally, just don't feel any one creature is more sacred than another......a life is a life.
