Cichlids and any fish for that matter grow better from the beginning so a dovii in a 700 would have plenty of space and water to grow without stunting.
Lol, yeah and it would be even better in a river where they originate from... 700 litre tank with a tiny fish in it for years before it's a reasonable size. Lol, people like you crack me up.

People that overstock tanks irritate me. Anyways to the point both jags and dovii grow too large for a 240 litre

You're wrong. They are only too large when they are a certain size. You could easily have both in a 240 for at least a year or so.

Yes they GROW too large, but in a year you can get a new tank or you might even be bored of them by then and want something else! I don't know many people that keep fish for their 10-15 year life spans!

For a year or so yes. But this attitude is rather irresponsible as not all large fish can be rehomed

They are fish, mate, not dogs. So are you suggesting that I should only have considered getting an aquarium if I was prepared to keep it for the 15 years the fish could live for? Is that what you're saying?

A good idea yes. Treating one animal higher than another is not a moral value that is really valued on this forum. When buying a tank all aspects should be looked at

I can only assume you're vegan and everyone else on this forum is vegan, then? Yeah?

I'm not trolling, you're just talking nonsense. A 3 inch fish does not need a monster aquarium from the get go, regardless of what it is.
