Marble motoro gestation periods

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Size means nothing for age really. Marbles can hit 12" in 2 years or less if given the right conditions and diet. That's still real young. Anything under 5-6 years old is pretty young for rays. Typically once a male hits about 5-6 years old they want to breed all the time with whatever is available regardless of space, regardless if prego or not. That's why it's been suggested earlier on in the thread it is wise to divide females off.

Previous owner has had him for 4-5 years at least.......idk where u thought he was young in the first place

I simply judged by your original comments on asking gestation periods it was first time they bred for you. It's not typical behavior of an older male to leave girls alone, especially when there is only one in a tank with him. That's why I thought it was a younger male. Did the previous owner breed him, or have him in with mature girls?

Yes he said that he has had 3-4 litters between these two and said he had never seperated them. There was another mature 12-13 inch female hystrix in the same tank but he said he never touched her.

Interesting, guess he's just a shy guy.
