When you're young it's easy to lose interest in hobbies and move on to new things quickly. Don't try and fight it or dwell on it. If you find fish keeping gets boring to you do something else. It's a hobby best suited for periods of your life that are very stable and that you have reliable spans of time to put the work in. I got into it heavily in my teens and early twenties and just got back into it last year as I now own a home and will be getting married. There's no shame in putting something to the side for a while if it's not what you want to do with your time. I switched hobbies and interests constantly and when you get older it's easier to see what really sticks. Life's weird... You'll figure it out eventually.
Word I didn't really get into fish till I owned a house
Drilling holes in my floor
redoing plumbing/electrical adding and removing walls for fish tank
Wouldn't go over well with landlords or parents
When ur invested in the hobby idk i could not see being into the way I am now with out owning my house and having security knowing I can try to at least hope I can setup a tank or buy a fish I plan to keep for years.
But only down side is which might be an upside is the wife
If it weren't for her I would easily have a 10k gallon river vivarium running the length of my house. But currently I am limited to my display in the living room and my fish room
Which for me means hours and hours spent thinking what I can do to improve water quality growth behavior of that tank as well as growing out fish in my fish room I want to add as I sell off the fish I have grown out of. Wish I could keep them all. I might idk it's hard for me to get rid of a fish I'll probably just end up finishing the basement And building the tank my self. No way to get a large tank in that is put together. Will have to take it down in pieces
Idk this is the kind of stuff that keeps me in the hobby constantly thinking what I can do different or try next what has worked
What has not
Watching king of diy or other you tubers gives me new ideas and inspiration. And keeps me hooked.
