African bullfrog advice and progress

Hey everyone, a new pet landed home Saturday. He was bought as a giant african bullfrog, I reverted back to my child hood but of course explained to the missus that our 2yr old son would love him lol.
The girl in the shop got tagged by him while showing me hand feeding of a locust, lucky he is only 3.5 inch as even at that size he drew blood.
I've setup my spare 35g for now with a 50/50 land water setup, filter and heater.
These things are little monsters, what an appetite haha.
The store advised 5 60mm locusts a day, is that not over feeding?
I've been doing 3 and an earthworm or 2, any help?
Also pics to follow, giant or dwarf, male or female?

This guy hunts like a crocodile, it's proper intense as he creeps in...
No one else keeping these at the moment?
Read through a lot of old threads about them, maybe I need to join a frog forum! -)

I'm not sure why your frog would need that many locusts every day unless they are very small....that just seems loke an awful lot for that size frog?
I like the looks of it it reminds me of the toads we used catch.I don't know much about them but I heard that they grow to a nice size.

Right, found this to be an awesome read.
Apparently feed sub adults every 2-3 days as much as they will eat in 15min.
Think mines a male and the giant variety.

Hey krich, definitely worth watching a few videos on YouTube, remind me of lurker puffers, don't do much until feeding time but great when they do.

Lol, some can hit 4lb apparently! And 9.5 inch nose to vent, 7 inch is more average tho and females 4-5 inch.

What I like is in frog terms it's the equivalent of a giant snake head or alligator gar, the meanest most bad ass of the species and can be kept in a tank less than 100g for life..
Live upto 40 years and easy to care for too! -)

I did 15min as much as they could eat. Everyday when they have stripes then reduce as necessary once they get bigger. I fed dubias and earthworms mostly (both are easy to culture) with a once a month mouse.

I travel a good bit for work and he bit all my frog sitters (they didn't feed enough) so I had to get rid of him. I guy offered me $600 for him at right under 7"!

They're very cool pets and not that vicious in captivity unless they're starving. If something makes quick movements it gets tagged so get yourself a pair of long tongs. They have some killer teeth and bite force.
