I realize this is the Central/south section, but I believe since you have a tiny tank, you may need other options.
The smallest of the Paretroplines from Madagascar could also be an option (and I believe the only Paretropline option because all others get too large). It could go well with Bedontia Malagasy rainbows, or Madagascan killifish as dithers
Paretroplus kieneri.
you guys awesome thanks for the suggestions. Still doing some research also now.
Always been interested in Electric Blue Acaras, Salvini also looks cool and colorful. Those rainbow cichlids also. gonna be a hard decision, just hoping they dont hide, and dont constantly nip at each other to try and claim the whole little tank.
Be wary of salvini. They are flat out mean, and if you are trying to keep them in a community setting, you'll be disappointed. Rainbows would be a good choice, as you can easily keep them with other community type fish.
Although I believe if acquired young, cutteri would work for a time, my male grew much to large for a 60gal. At 8" in length with height and girth to match, not a great choice for such a small tank. The female, at half his size, yes.
guys i just went to my LFS, and they have 3 really nice baby Salvini's, they are like yellow and orange really nice. Should i do it? they are like 8.99 each
