Fish stores don't even care ... they will not hesitate to sell people multiple fish that grow over 1 foot in length for a tank that is too small for even one of those fish.
My silver dollars are currently in my 5ft and doing great. They were in a four foot for a while and every time someone who wasn't me or my hubby walked past they would spaz out and go silly. Since putting them back into the 5ft they've calmed down heaps, guests can walk past the tank without them going stupid now, it's great! Mind you I only have two and if I had more than four I would want a 6ft for sure.Sounds bad. Oscars need biggwr than 75 to truly thrive IMO
Silver dollars need a 6ft tank to have enough space to shoal and swim without bashing their noses when spooked
+1If you bought it new in February, you should be doing a warranty claim, not trying to repair it.
