I would re home that Oscar now before you get attached to it.It will out grow that tank in no time.
Oscars are active intelligent fish that need a 6x2x2 in my opinion.
It's no use saying, this was the only tank I could afford so I will buy an Oscar anyway. The answer here is choose a suitable species for the only tank you can afford.
That's your opinion,in mine it does.Lol a single Oscar doesn't even require a 6 foot tank tho. If
Nothing wrong in posting here.People Unliking my posts now lol. i guess cause I don't have a 6 foot tank I shouldn't be posting here.
A solo oscar in a 55 is like keeping a danio in a 10cm tank. Also their waste output is enormous. With proper food, housing and waterchanges they can grow an inch a month. The fish will get stunted and have issues in an insufficient tankLol a single Oscar doesn't even require a 6 foot tank tho. If I had more than one then clearly a 6 foot would be needed. Don't take this as I won't be getting one eventually, But TBH this tank is sufficient enough to house him until I can upgrade. I've had him for months and he is just 4.5 inches. If people can run a solo Oscar in a 55g I can get away with growing him in a 65 just saying
A 12 inch plus fish in a 55 is just plain cruel.
Sure you can keep a solo Oscar alive in a 55 but It don't make it right.
