I saw a couple pages back where it was said that its slowed down because of facebook. While i do believe it to be true i personally cannot stand to be on 99% of fish related groups. Everyone is so quick to jump to conclusions and spew complete BS and/or opinions on the facebook. I will post pics of my orinos on groups just to show them off and it very quickly turns into them telling me what i need to do/change and them trying to give unwanted and unwarranted advice and i have to tell them to kick rocks everytime. I have never seeked advice or knowledge from a facebook group. Thats what this place is for. I send people here all the time for any non basic questions about their monster fish because this was once a wealth of knowledge and i still think it is.
I do feel the extreme amount of ID threads in this section has annoyed just about everyone as most of them are bad pictures of 2-3 inch bass which makes it really difficult but that should be contained in one thread. I know there is one but its really long and a new one needs to be created. If people make new threads then have a moderator merge it into the ID thread to help clean it up. I miss the knowledge flying in this forum though. I researched the hell out of this forum everyday for 6 months straight. My first tank ever in my life was a 220g cichla tank. I thought my fondness to the species would wear off but i like them even more now and continue to learn as much as a i can. I hope some life can come back to this section. It looks like the fly by night cichla keepers have come and gone for the most part but it looks like we still have a decent amount of the real cichla enthusiast. I got on here for the first time in a couple months today to ask a cichla breeding question and as i was checking back for replies i jumped in here to see if there was still tumbleweeds and there seems to be some activity. Ill keep checking back daily now and hopefully others will to so it picks up.
