This thread forced me to become a cichla owner. I put the pair in my main tank and my native bass went after them so they were moved into the sump.

The picture is taken in a Rubbermaid tote so no side view. A few months after buying the bass the pond by me had a huge duckweed bloom. I took a bunch home and put it in by sump with the bass. The duckweed clogged the pump and my bass died.

After that experience I ditched the sump and went with canister and HOB only. I have been keeping my eye open at LFS for larger Pbass that won't get eaten in my tank. Yesterday was the day, I picked up 2 of them ~6 inches. They are really skinny but eating feeders. Pictures to come soon.
