Even just a single pair of adult Dovii need 150 Gallons or more. Everything else in the tank would end up dead maybe even the female. They would probably do best in a 300-500 Gallon tank realistically but nobody really does that.
Yeah I've been wanting to keep them but I know, the last one I sold tore my flowerhorn a new crapper... LbvsYup. They will eventually kill everything else. Might be ok now, but dovii don't play well w/ anything else. They study their tank mates learn their weakness, then kill. The one thread where a dovii bit a pleco in half is proof they are no joke.
Not true at all, a 150 would be just fine to keep a festae pair happy. They're pretty slow growers, you're hoping to get a pair I'm assuming? I think a 150 would be on the low end of keeping a pair happy and healthy for life.
