What's a good weight to use. Lead, gold, tungsten are all heavy by volume displaced. Lead being the cheapest. Most of my tungsten is tied up in expensive cutting tools, I own no gold. You may want to switch out the lead weight for something else. Under the right conditions lead can leach into the water and harm the fish.
I believe zinc is safe. What's a good weight to use. Lead, gold, tungsten are all heavy by volume displaced. Lead being the cheapest. Most of my tungsten is tied up in expensive cutting tools, I own no gold.
316 stainless but I only have about 5 pounds laying around.
It should water log in a couple of weeks, and with lots of water changes to remove tannins. Hopefully the lead won't do too much harm.
Likely in lower quantities. I dont think it oxidises wellI believe zinc is safe.
I presoak wood for a week, and then just do waterchanges till its goneI don't worry about wood sinking. I put it in the tank, if it wants to float, it floats. When it sinks, it sinks. It looks better than an empty box whether it sinks or floats.
For tannins......tannin is the only thing I've seen that Purigen shows just dramatic results. I've gone from moderately tea stained water to crystal overnight with Purigen.
