So i was sure my green terror was a female due to her having a bit of green "beard" and not particularly long dorsal fins. But now it looks like she/he is getting a hump, im not really sure anymore. Can females get the hump on they're heads also?
I agree with most of this but I think you can tell the sex very early on if you have both sexes to compare.Green beard is for sexing JD, not GT. Old female can get a small hump and dominant non-breeding female can be as colorful as male. GT is not sexable until near maturity when the male gets bigger, has steeper head profile, and slightly longer fines. Unless you have the fish side by side, it's hard to sex a single GT.
GT sexing thread comes up twice a month. Why not do a search before posting.
Is the start of the dorsal fin white? Most females dorsal fin will turn white at the start and end in orange. So i was sure my green terror was a female due to her having a bit of green "beard" and not particularly long dorsal fins.
