Suggestions for a planted 65 overhaul or addition

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if you keep em well fed i see no issue with a rope

I would love a rope, but they like friends (3 total is good) and I dont have space for friends

Bumping this thread as my bushfish has started to eat the tetras. (He is HUGE now) So I'm moving the smaller fish to an old 30 gallon tank.

I will keep the 2 plecos in the 65 and the bushfish.
Then I am thinking of getting:

Butterfly fish (2? 3?)
Rope fish (3)
Small bichir - now if I can or wait until we move next year (opinions?)

And then possibly some larger tetras like congos? I also like the look of orange lemon tetras.

Other ideas? Concerns?

I would pass on bichirs. Congo tetras and butterfly fish would both be very nice additions

Congo tetras i would recommend 2 males and 4-5 females for best colour and least harassment. A second male creates 'competition' and better colours apparently.

Butterflies i would go anywhere 1-4 but if you are getting congos id say less due to bioload unless you are prepared to do a lot of waterchanges:)

OK thanks for the recommendations!

I do 50% water changes weekly (I have an Eheim 2217 filter). I would prefer to keep it at weekly changes.
