Just toying with the idea of a future project.
How many natteri can be housed in a 7x2x2?

if I can pick i would do mixed pygo like red bellies, piraya, ternetzi, caribe etc..in that tank with woods and plants and dimmed light. As group I would go with 5-7 pygo. I tend to see odd number are good mixed with pygos. But other may have different experienced.

Thanks for your reply.
I just want one species, Serrasalmus natteri.
Tank will have 2 2000 litres an hour external filtration.

not sure if Natteri is family of Serra. They are Pygo family unless I misslead what you are saying.

I may have got it wrong, I've always been into cichlids but I thought red bellies were called Serrasalmus natteri?

I made the same error, didn't know the name had changed! Are you getting bored of the GT's?
My dad had the gt's off me a few months back.
I have a group of thorichthys in there at the moment.
I am actually getting another 7x2 x2.The one I have now has gained a few scratches. When I eventually get the new one,the old one I will set up in my garage.
I have been keeping mainly cichlids for over 25 years, probably longer.I thought it was time to set up a biotope for something non cichlid.
I saw a piranha display on Monday at the national sea life centre in Birmingham. It really appealed to me and I thought it would make a change from the cichlids.

I wasnt awared of the name change, I've been into prianhas many years ago and always called them pygo family. Interested of the name changed. Serra are solo fish family unlike pygo you can shoal them.
