Hi.... new to building a plywood aquarium..... I have read so many threads on this and how it can be done but I don't want a small tank.... any input would be great
I think the 5' tall is what will end up causing you problems. That is a lot of pressure to hold in and will require a lot of bracing on the tank, and you will need very thick glass for your viewing pane.
The 8x8 part is fine as many others have built tanks that big or bigger.
I would recommend you go 8x8x3' tall. You get the same footprint this way and still have some pretty decent height.
Sure would but will cost a pretty pennyLike how thick should be the acrylic have to be to use a 5' tall aquarium? Would 2.5". Be enough ?
Really not that bad at $4,200 try AcmePlastics.... great pricesSure would but will cost a pretty penny
Love the height ..... but of course there will be a very stronge plywood frame ........I have to ask. Why so tall
Not that bad eh? I don't know what you consider good for a single pane of plastic but 4200 is pretty expensive but hey if you can afford it go for it man!! Will make a nice looking tankReally not that bad at $4,200 try AcmePlastics.... great prices
