African pike tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How shy/skittish is your knife? This tank is in a high traffic area. I might just go with a knife and plecos as bottom feeders unless I can find something that I like better.
The one is more outgoing than the other. i wouldn't recommend them too much without a lot of cover and plans to get food down to them. they also might get skittish with the odoes when they grow big

I plan on getting more wood and some floating plants as well as more knives to try and increase how much i see them.

Your Odoe are super cute! Enjoy them while they're that small, they seem to grow pretty quick! So innocent looking when small - pure business when large....

I'm currently keeping Ornate Pims under my Odoe and really like the combo....

I keep 5 under the 5 Odoe, bunch of silver dollars, aro, knife all in a 300 in my living room (high traffic) and works really well...... These cats seem like they'd be timid if there wasn't a group but in a group they push each other to the point there always moving. Not real fast growing, don't get huge, seem a perfect match to clean up after the Odoe.

I think last I saw Rapps still had them...... Don't think I've ever seen them anywhere else...

Nah, realistically these guys are probably going in your Senegal tank. I have the cichlid itch bad right now. I miss having a few breeding pairs around the house.

Actually I like the idea of a goby, I'll have to research some medium sized species.
You can try jade gobies or water cow goby (eleotris picta I believe).

Also depending what cichlids you can probably keep them together. It will come down to the specimens. Like I had a jag I wouldn't hesitate to keep my odoe with, acted more as a peace keeper, I actually wish I still had that male.

These guys have been pounding pellets and putting on some good growth lately, I'll probably be moving them up to the bigger tank this weekend.
