I euthanized him today with clove oil. He seemed to be suffering.
My husband and I did an autopsy, and there was nothing in there - it wasn't the substrate.Polyaddict86 was right (and I was hesitant to believe it) - his jaw was dislocated on the left side. That must have been painful.
So, I guess there is nothing I could have done to prevent this which is aggravating.
I'll go to the wet spot tomorrow and look at the palmas palmas and the delhezi and try again. I want another active poly with personality. And I think both species are gorgeous. But with the 3 foot dimension, even with 18" width, I don't think I can do both until I upgrade when we move in a year or so. I'd like to have both eventually.
RIP buddy - you were my gateway poly. <3
Sorry for the loss of your senegal. That is super devastating to hear, especially for a first poly passing. At least your senegal isn't suffering anymore and you have all the happy memories. RIP senegal.
Proud of you for trying again. You can always do palmas palmas, delhezi, and senegal together. That would be exciting!
