Starting a new thread for these guys, separated out from the RIP thread for Noodles the Senegal, my first bichir.
Today I got a couple of WC 6" juvies - Udon, the Delhezi, and Ramen, the Palmas Palmas.
I unbagged them in a dark tank, but lit it for feeding, and actually, the Palmas has been far more comfortable. She (Don't actually know - can you sex them at this size??) has chosen a hangout spot in a partial cave where she is visible all the time. She has been pretty active, and ate some frozen fish readily at dinner time. The Del has been a little more shy, hiding in my thick plant cover (some of which I might need to pull as the bichirs grow.)
I know it is not even 24 hours. But I am surprised by all reports here that the Palmas has been the easier one to transition to the tank. I thought for sure it would have been the Del.
Udon in the bag
Ramen in the bag
Ramen - in the very visible "cave" she likes
Out and about.
More catfish please.
