Thank you all, fellas!

bOOsteN aUdI bOOsteN aUdI I'm not sure if you have seen my question to you.

Thank you so much, all.

Are you thinking in general or something about this fish made you think so? The odd left and right hand side spotting?

I missed this one. I suggested to dose prazipro because it's not normal for them to be eating one day and dead the next. It's also odd that you lost that many bass and only one survived out of the group. Usually whenever fish stop eating or sudden dead of a group with no visual signs of illness, I suspect parasite.

Gotcha. Much appreciated, mate!

I asked Wes fugupuff fugupuff about this batch, IIRC he said there is nothing unusual he noted about it or heard back from customers. One guy lost the whole group too but it sounded like to his own error.

Maybe Wes knows more now than back in Aug-Sept 2016 when I was reporting my gradual losses to him? I am not sure he will have the time / chance to chime in but hope so. I tend to blame myself anyway, I know my nitrates have been creeping up on unsuspecting me back then...

YOur nitrates were not high enough to kill the bass....just slow their growth a little if anything.
Id suspect there was something internal that was affecting the bass.
YOur not a newbie and there is no reason for 50-100ppm nitrates to kill off a pack like that.

Thanks bro! But I am a newbie when it comes to pbass and when it comes to high nitrates. Never had either of those. I appreciate the education.

I've read high nitrates affect digestion in a goldfish study, so it wasn't much but something to go with in my thinking and hypothesizing.

A few photos from today of my "5-spot" orino - 2 spots on left side, 3 on right side. Many of my pbass prefer pellets or at least take pellets and fish equally well but not this guy, he appears to always hold out for thawed fish pieces.

Nice orino. Looks like its going to develop the outer highlight of that middle spot but no black spot.

June 14, 2017 update on the survivor "5-spot", still in a 240 gal, about 6", likes both cut fish and catfish farm pellets.

Pbass and the tank mates:
