Healing open wounds

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
okay. I took out the big plastic root. today. It had some sharp edges on it from where it was broken. That's the only thing I can think of. Kept everything else. Tested the rocks and plants, the rocks were all smooth. No pokeys on the plant.

The tank looks really bare right now. Also finally rehomed the pike. Benny is the only one in there right now.
Take a picture of the whole tank so everyone can see and give suggestion.

If his the only poly in the tank its time to get some more or else it will claim the whole tank as its territory and you gonna have a hard time adding a poly cause of its aggression, ornate are known to be territorial and aggresive.

do you think he'll have a hard time with aggression if he's by himself for a week?

I dont think it will be aggressive in a week, since you took out some stuff in the tank it maybe thinking its a new home, but if it stay by it self for 3 week to a month maybe it will claim it as its territory.

dosed with Prazipro yesterday. Will see how it goes. Outside the wound looks a little less orange. Hopefully will start healing up so I don't have to use maracyn 1 or 2.
So you haven't used any antibiotics?

You have any picture update on the wound?
couldn't get the best picture today. Will try again later.
It appears to be red/inflammed and assymetrical. Looks like the inflammation around the wound is no longer orange since adding the prazipro. Still wound is open, looks kind of deep, and swollen. Also noticed there is an orangish bump almost diagnol to the lower wound on the other side on his body.

hopefully will get better pictures later. You can't tell in the pictures, but the open wound is a very dark red color.

not yet. I did the 50% water changes and prazipro as suggested. Took me a couple days to get ahold of the prazipro.

Should I progress the treatment? get the triple sulfa(not sure what that is)? Should I do maracyn 1 or/and 2? It's very interesting because it started off as a scratch almost, but now it is circular. Hope it's not eating away his skin.

Thank you everyone for your patience with this issue.
