The so-called 'extremists' in the Islamic religion are real Muslims. The ones who aren't violent aren't even following what their faith says. In other words, not real Muslims.

They follow a different form of Islam. Many muslims are against their actions.

You must realise that like Christianity there are different forms of Islam

They can call themselves whatever they want but their 'different form' is not real Islam. It's a different religion.
Just like Mormons call themselves Christians. They aren't really Christians.

There are different interpretations.
Protestants and Catholics. Sunni and Shia.

Christians follow the bible. Muslims follow the Qur'an. Just the interpretation and moral values differ and change. A soccer ball and a rugby ball are different but they are still both sports balls.

Just saying

What? Have you not payed attention to the media nowadays? I think they need to be tougher on Muslims, after all the horrible things they have been doing. I'm sorry but you can't put Christians in the same category as them.
Yeah you kind of can though. There are plenty of people of that claim to be followers of the Christian faith that do terrible things. Every heard of The Army of God or the KKK. And people who also consider themselves Christian will say what was done was wrong and that's not what their faith is about.
Same thing with the Muslim church. Some followers of that religion do terrible things and other followers condemn those terrible things.
When Muslims kill a bunch of people we blame their belief system and lump all of the followers of that faith into one pot. But when followers of Christ say that God told him to do it we call them crazy. we don't blame the belief system and all other Christians get a free pass because Christianity is the American way.
It's funny how people also forget that we are also in the middle of a war. Everything American has God written all over it and we're over there fighting this war with God on our side. And these Muslim extremists are doing whatever they're doing because they have their God on their side. Civilians being killed all over the world by people of all faiths. The only difference is the Muslims are open about their faith. I don't think American soldiers are on the battlefield shouting that they're doing this for God but I'm sure that some of those drone pilots also consider themselves good Christians. But we need to be harder on only Muslims?

That makes sense I guess...

I think I've stirred the pot here enough.

Hello; Am I correct in that this thread has the most posts of all? If so then another question is how much longer it will last now that it has gotten into the weeds of religious arguments??

Yeah, I understand your point. I'm not saying we have to be hard on only Muslims but excusing them is ridiculous, which happens too often.

Yes, people do bad things in the name of the Christian God, but at least the Bible doesn't teach that stuff, yet the Koran does.

Great point SK and with that in mind while I would love to offer up some replies to some of the points raised in the post before yours I am going to refrain from doing so.

Well....say goodbye to Ringling Bros.
