Hello all!
Now that I've had my tank cycling for nearly a month and the system has become somewhat stable, I'm about ready to start adding fish again. I've got a pretty good idea of what most of my stock will be, but I have a minor problem: I don't know what fish to get my son.
When he was born, and for the first year and a half of his life, whenever my boy was upset I'd park him in front of the fish tank which would soothe him. Now that he's almost 4, he doesn't understand why, but he adores fish lol.
For his birthday, I'd like to get him his first fish. Preferably, something vivid red. He's seen pictures of mature super red arowanas and loves the color, but being an American that's not an option for obvious reasons.
My question to you, MFK, is what are my options to give this boy an active, attractive bright red fish, that is NOT a blood parrot?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
