They need to just change it scouts as it's no longer "boy" scouts
 
maybe I'm too progressively thinking for this thread but couldn't they just combine the boy and girl scouts and make everyone happy? What would the harm be really?

we are hoping to try something like this through our church, teaching outdoor skills to both genders since hypothermia, drowning, and starvation are equal opportunity hazards

Not too progressive at all and nothing wrong with it. But this was forced on them. Wasnt something they came up with on their own. Thats what i see the issue being. I dont have any issues with boys and girls having the same organization. This all happened because of the boy/girl that identifies with the opposite sex not their birth sex
