I think we are splitting hairs, as I've not really disagreed with anything you've said here except for the life span of Discus and that is all subjective as you've pointed out. No big deal.

anyone here experience white stringy poop after the three day feeding period? I fed hex shield because i suspected something in poop but flowerhorn is eat well all along. during the three day feeding i mixed with regular non medicated pellets. strange now, it is the fourth day and it is experiencing long white stringy poop stuck to behind. Is this the fish just purging out all the parasite and stuff?

Keep feeding it until it goes away. Then add normal food and the treatment. Siphon out the poop

I will do so, but it seems to be fine today. Do not want to overdoes on the metronidazole as the author of this topic recommends. But I feed hex shield for 3 and half days rather than the recommended four days.
